Snowmobile Information
What’s better than a toasty night in front of the fireplace? Wake up to a fresh coating of snow. Have a hearty breakfast, then hit one of the many trails leading away from the resort.
The trail that leads to Itasca State Park is an excellent choice traveling through the tall pine forest. Once in the park, you’ll be treated to the serenity that only virgin timber trails can give you.
Kohl’s Resort is connected to 1000’s of miles of trails. You’ve made the effort to get here and you will be rewarded with beautiful scenery, groomed trails and no crowds. A comment we hear a lot is, “Our group went for hours and we only saw a few other sleds.”

Cross Country Ski Information
Listen to the wind whisper through the trees as you trek through one of Bemidji’s eight trail sites.
After you're finished enjoying the beautiful scenery, warm up around the fireplace in a warm northern Minnesota cabin.
These trails vary from 2k to 50k. Don’t worry if you are a beginner or pro, these trails are designed for every level of expertise. It’s easy to rent your equipment right here in Bemidji. Bemidji Area Trail Maps .Right outside the resort grounds you can venture into the woods and head towards state forests and the county park. There are a few miles of natural trails or try the many miles of rustic DNR wilderness roads. Ski down onto Big Turtle Lake. As you cross the snow covered ice, head to the closest island (Farm Island) and do a little exploring. While you are out on the lake, stop by a few of the ice fisherman and see if anything is biting.
Downhill Skiing & Snowboarding
Wake up and enjoy breakfast in front of your very own fireplace. Then prepare your family for a full day of fun at Buena Vista’s 16 downhill runs, tubing and snowboard parks, or horse drawn rides.

Kohls Resort has the closest accommodations to the ski hill, just a few minutes away, traveling around Big Turtle lake.
After a day of skiing, relax in our heated indoor pool and take an adventure back in time with our Arcade of over 4000 classic arcade games.

Bemidji Area Ice Fishing
Catch the BIG ONES! Fish Big Turtle Lake, right in front of your cabin. Bring your own portable or wheel house right down our boat launch and try your luck on one of the other lakes in our five lake chain. And within 30 minutes are 30 different lakes for fishing. Minnesota is, afterall, the state of 10,000 lakes!
If you need an ice fishing guide, just give us a call and we can set you up with one. We have guides that run through our resort as well as guides on many other area lakes.
But be careful. First ice is usually the first week of November. By the Christmas season, we will have 4 – 8″ of ice depth, and you are now usually fully able to drive on the lake with an ATV or snowmobile. Once we hit 12” of ice, pickup trucks can drive right out on our plowed ice road right out of our private boat launch. The last week of game fishing, which is the last week of February, we normally have 3 solid feet of ice to cut through. Bring your own gear or we can line you up with a guide. Dress warm and have fun. Don’t forget, after a day on the ice, you can take a dip in the heated indoor pool.
